Originating out of the 1960s mod scenes of northern of England, the Midlands, Scotland & Wales, Northern Soul drew inspiration from black American soul music, especially that of Tamia Motown. The movement also saw unique styles of dancing and fashion emerging from dance halls such as the infamous, Wigan Casino where people would travel from across the whole country just to be a part of it.
