The 'Townshend' Madcap England mod Union Jack blazer jacket comes in deep red, off white and dark blue. Inspired by The Who and The Jam, this slim fit blazer jacket features retro slim notch lapel, slanted flap pockets and open welt left breast pocket. 3 covered button fasten and 3 button detail to the non-working cuffs. The burgundy lining adds the finishing touch. The Union Jack detail was carefully created, a number of prototypes saw the pattern gradually tweaked to get to the final design. The idea was to get a design that everyone would recognise, but without the need to fully replicate the flag. Like it or not, the Union Jack Blazer has become an iconic image of UK fashion culture largely thanks to a close affinity to the British music scene. John Entwistle on the cover of The Who's debut album My Generation, the legendary Colin Jones photos of the band from 1966 with a moody looking Pete Townshend, not to mention Paul Weller and The Jam, whom by adorning the Union Jack Blazer captured another archetypal image of British Music history. A jacket that divides opinion, but that has undoubtedly stood the test of time.
